This LIVER elixir is combining liquid herbs of St Mary's Thistle, Dandelion Root & Globe Artichoke, these herbs are a 1:1 extract, so for each 1ml of liquid, you get equivalent of 1gm dry herb. The dose of this liver tonic is 3mls x 2 (in a little water), taken 15-30 mins before your two main meals (30 day supply). Or 3mls taken once in the evening before dinner, for gentle liver support (60 day supply).

St Mary's Thistle, aka Silybum marianum, research has confirmed traditional herbal knowledge, proving that this herb has a remarkably ability to protect the liver from damage & stimulates the secretion of bile. Now recognized as liver protective, restorative & regenerative, making it an all-rounder for a wide variety of liver complaints. Silymarin which is a substance contained in the seeds, exerts a highly protective effect on the liver, preventing it from damage on something that would normally be highly toxic. Dandelion Root, aka Taraxacum spp., is one of the most effective detoxifying herbs. Working principally on the liver & gallbladder to help remove waste product, it also stimulates the kidneys to remove toxins via the urine. It encourages elimination of toxins caused from infections or pollutions remarkably well & benefits many ailments such as constipation, skin problems such as acne, eczema & psoriasis, may relieve arthritic conditions like gout & OA. The main reason I added it to this elixir was for the gentle detoxification & gallbladder support.
 
Globe Artichoke, Cynara scolymus, is a very valuable medicinal plant, like Milk Thistle it benefits the liver, protecting against toxins & infection. All parts of the plant are bitter, this stimulates the digestive secretions, especially bile. This makes artichoke useful in the treatment of gallbladder problems, nausea, indigestion & abdominal distention (bloating) with the added benefit of lowering the blood cholesterol. More recent research is showing benefits for diabetics as it is showing to lower blood sugar levels also. The main reason I chose this herb was for the all-round liver & gallbladder support.
